The Beach Ball was a fun-filled evening celebrating recovery and fund raising for those thousands that remain in the Rio Grande Valley still needing help to live a drug-free life.

Our gratitudes

The economy has hit us all very hard. Donors are giving less or not giving at all. People are losing their jobs, homes and families and too many are turning to alcohol and drugs as a result of it. PDAP now has more people who need us and PDAP now has more need from donors. To make matters worse... PDAP was broken into on June 22, 2009. We're getting ready for the 7th Annual Beach Ball -- our big fund raiser for PDAP. In the mean time, we also have our BBQ for the kids next week. Come on by or with advance notice and a sizeable order... we'll deliver the BBQ to you! And this ain't no ordinary BB! Chicken, Fajita & Sausage, rice & beans and tortillas!!!! BBQ Tickets = $7.00

Palmer Drug Abuse Program – McAllen, Inc. (PDAP) is a non-profit organization that provides professional and confidential counseling and support groups to youth, adults, and families who have been affected by the abuse of alcohol and other drugs. We also provide a positive, drug-free social environment for youth to socialize while not at work or school. Organized activities are offered Friday and Saturday nights until midnight. All services are provided free of charge. In addition, we have a preventive aspect to our program through our annual Drug-Free Youth Leadership Conference.

PDAP served over 1300 clients in 2008; we expect a 15% increase in clientele this year. By supporting our event, you will enable us to meet the growing demand for the vital and unique services we provide to our community. PDAP is the only agency in the area offering FREE counseling services to young people and their families affected by substance abuse.

How can you help? The Beach Ball is scheduled to “bounce in” on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at The Club at Cimarron! With casino action, Live and Blackboard Auctions, delicious food, exhilarating live music, dancing till midnight, and casual attire, everyone is sure to have a fantastic time! Our fundraising events will continue later on in the year on Sunday, December 6, 2009 with the Drive “Fore” Recovery Golf Tournament at McAllen’s Palm View Golf Course. It will be an afternoon of great golf followed by fabulous awards and prizes.

The success of PDAP’s fundraisers is largely dependent on a successful auction – which means great auction items! Please help us by donating an item for The Beach Ball to be auctioned or to be raffled to the top casino winners. In return for your donation, we will be more than willing to provide you with the following promotions:

· Recognition in Newspaper Ad Post-Event
In exchange for a donation worth more than $500, you will also receive two tickets to The Beach Ball, where we know you will “Have A Ball”!

PDAP depends on your support to help another teen stay off drugs, to empower a family to communicate again, and to continue being able to offer hope to thousands. All funds raised from these events directly enable us to continue these crucial services.
